With our Rohrer Erbium Yag Laser skin resurfacing, this is a process where the skin is resurfaced by a laser causing brown spots to be reduced and irradicated along with improving collagen under the skin. Fine lines are noted to be reduced as well. This is a medical grade resurfacing requiring down time due to swelling, sloughing of the skin.

Laser Treatment Q&A
What is laser treatment?
At Compassionate Health Med Spa, laser treatment refers to a wide range of light-based treatments to enhance and restore your appearance. The Spectrum is a multifunctional system that includes both intense pulsed light (IPL) and four different lasers.
With IPL, flashes of light target skin concerns and encourage skin regeneration. With laser, beams of concentrated light target unwanted hair or tattoo pigment for effective removal.
What are the different laser and IPL treatment options?
Compassionate Health Med Spa offers a range of laser and IPL treatments, including:
Skin resurfacing
Skin resurfacing treatments use IPL to gently remove the outer layers of your skin, where sun damage, age spots, freckles, fine lines, and other issues occur.
IPL also encourages collagen remodeling in the deeper layers of your skin to improve skin firmness and tightness. This treatment reveals your new, healthy, and fresh-looking skin.
Pigmented and vascular lesion removal
IPL can effectively treat pigmented lesions — age spots, sun spots, freckles, and melasma — and vascular lesions — tiny threadlike veins — in a photofacial treatment. The light breaks up the melanin, which gives pigmented lesions their color, so you eliminate it over time.
With vascular lesions like rosacea, the light closes off the blood vessels involved, so the lesion fades soon afterward.
Acne treatment
IPL treatment can work to control acne in two ways. It targets and destroys acne-causing bacteria, which prevents new acne breakouts from happening.
Additionally, the treatment fights inflammation, which in turn reduces the redness around breakouts.
Hair removal
For removal of unwanted hair, laser light targets hair at its root. This destroys the follicle and inhibits regrowth. Thanks to the flexibility of the Spectrum system, you can remove hair from both smaller areas like the upper lip and larger areas like the legs.
The laser has a cooled tip, which reduces warmth and discomfort during treatment. You’ll also receive topical anesthetic for particularly sensitive areas like the bikini line.
Tattoo removal
The Q-Switched Yag/KTP laser in the Spectrum system uses two different wavelengths of light energy to target any color of tattoo ink at any depth in your skin for permanent ink removal. Once broken down, you eliminate the ink particles naturally in the coming months.
Treatments generally take just 20-30 minutes in the Compassionate Health Med Spa office.
How many laser treatment sessions will I need?
In most cases, you’ll have at least a few treatment sessions to get the desired results. For example, with laser hair removal, you need a series of treatments scheduled at least six weeks apart. Compassionate Health Med Spa can create a laser or IPL treatment plan to help you get the ideal results based on your specific skin needs.
